OLD GIRL PROFILE IKIRSTIE PETCH
t was fabulous to see Kirstie and her father Philip at the Old Boys’ and Girls’ Association cricket day last month. Kirstie (2000 - 2007) attended Southwell, continuing a family tradition after her brother,
Martin, her father, Philip, and her uncles, John, Robert and Jeremy Petch all attended Southwell.
After spending ve years in Auckland studying to become an osteopath, Kirstie has returned to live in Hamilton and is practicing at the Osteopathic Clinic. Following a rowing injury while at high school, osteopathy was the rst medical modality that signi cantly decreased Kirstie’s pain. This inspired Kirstie to look into it as a career, and after further research into its founding principles, she became hooked. Osteopathy’s holistic approach, along with providing a safe, natural and non-invasive treatment, tailored to the individual patient’s needs, aligns with Kirstie’s outlook on health.
Kirstie is also involved in the recently formed Osteopathic Children’s Foundation. The Foundation is a group of osteopaths who have come together as volunteers to create a centre for treating children on a koha basis.
This service enables children, whose families otherwise could not afford
it, to be healthier by having access to free osteopathy and all the bene ts it can provide. For more information on The Osteopathic Childrens Foundation please visit their website: www.ocf.org. nz
