WHO ARE WE?
You know who you are!! Canterbury house
in 2018 has been packed full of kids with vitality and passion in abundance! They have been ready to give every challenge their all and to cheer their housemates on with gusto. This year we may not have scaled the heights of success in every challenge but boy, we sure crushed it in the biggest competition of them all, the Tug-o-War. This was easily the highlight of our year.
Putting together our strongest teams of boys and girls, we won every single heat, bar one, leading up to the nals on Athletics Day. We edged out strong competition from Lincoln to come away with well-deserved wins from both teams. The chanting and screaming for blue could be heard far and wide as we took home that particular honour.
House Singing earlier in the year was another high point for us. In the end we came away
in second place, which was an outstanding effort, considering the stiff competition from the other houses.
In House Dancing we drew Gangnam Style by Korean superstar Psy. We were fortunate to have rhythm, if not time, on our side as we prepared for battle. Our Year 8s bravely stepped up to take some lead roles in this and great fun was had by all.
Over all 2018 was a super year to be a member of Canterbury. Our House Leaders, Hannah and William, will be hard to replace next year as they did a stirling job and rose to every challenge.
2019 will be undoubtedly be another cracker for Canterbury. Thank you to all our teachers and staff for your valued assistance but most of all to the children whose passionate displays of house spirit were the envy of all.
