Her time, trouble and dedication is much appreciated. We also say thank you to Reverend Neale Troon for his spiritual guidance throughout the year. Mrs Gloria Archer and Mr Damian Mills have also done a huge amount to support our international students, thereby taking on a large part of the Boarding House Staff’s responsibilities with regard to its duty of care towards these special children.
Of course we cannot go without saying thank you to our wonderful kitchen staff of Mr Ron Govindan, Mr Deepak Kumar, Mrs Maureen Barrett, Ms Fay Daly and Mrs Liz Fecser. Their hard work and their efforts to provide meals that appeal to the tastes of the children are truly appreciated. And it is hard to believe that after 36 years of service to Southwell, we won’t be seeing Mrs Barrett’s face around the Dining Room any longer. For all her energy and dedication during this time we say a very big thank you and we wish her happiness and good health in her retirement.
Complementing all of these wonderful individuals have been our marvellous
Gap Tutors. This year we have been lucky enough to have had the services of Miss Clare MacGregor, Mr James McIntyre, Miss Paula Currie, Mr Ted Somers-Walters, Miss
Braedene Bevan and Mr Alex Boardman. We thank them for their long-suffering patience and endurance as they stepped in to perform a wide range of tasks both in the Boarding House and in the day school.
Congratulations must go to Angus Reeves upon receiving the Brabazon Cup awarded
to the Best All-Round Boarder and to Emma Clapcott for being awarded the Stembridge Cup which is given to the Year 8 Boarder who consistently follows Boarding House routines.
To conclude, we believe it fair to decare 2018 a very successful year in the Boarding House and we look forward to an equally successful year in 2019.
