YEAR 5 SYNDICATE
An excerpt from I Have A Dream
A man stands on the platform, ready to deliver a speech. His dark, dedicated eyes gaze meaningfully at his audi- ence. 250,000 people stand to listen, watching waiting. Hundreds of black negro protesters march decisively down the aisles, faces serious and faces holding back years of injustice.
The man starts to speak...
A podium of strength, his brave body shakes with commitment. His cropped, black, african hair sits on his head
of allegiance. “I Have a Dream,” He repeats, “I Have a Dream”. The young black children look on, silent as he continues; “I Have a Dream, that one day little black boys and little black girls will join hands with little white boys and little white girls as brothers and sisters.”
I Have a Dream. And at his very words, the air around that crowd shook with emotion. And Freedom.
