YEAR 6 CAMP: TAUPO
Remembering Camp
On boring school days...
My feet remember the soft grass between my toes,
My legs remember the struggle of the tryathlon,
My body remembers the numbing waters of Lake Taupo,
My arms remember the agony while trying to balance myself on the challenge ropes,
My hands remember the frustration while folding the windmill in the science challenge,
My face remembers the cool soothing winds from the mountain,
My mind remembers...
That camp will be back in a few months.
William Cross
On Long School Days
My feet remember sharp bark cutting into their arches.
My legs remember the agony of the seemingly endless tryathlon.
My body remembers the bruises from the harsh and rocky slip ā€˜nā€™ slide.
My arms remember the recoil when I pulled the trigger of the slug guns. My hands remember stinging blisters from the gripless ropes on the challenge course.
My mind remembers... that a new and improved camp will come again next year.
