t seems everywhere you look around the Southwell investment made in her lifetime. And of course, another campus at the moment, there is a new building third-generation family, we’ll be forever grateful for the popping up or about to be begun! $1 million donation made by John Oliver to kick off the
Only opened this year, it’s hard to imagine the School without the new junior block. The new boarding house is well under way, and of course the new Alumni Sports Pavilion was opened recently. Very shortly we’ll see the diggers make a start on the new Ken and Rita Davies Swimming Pool. Each of these projects will be enjoyed and appreciated not just by today’s Southwell students, but generations of students who follow. And each project has a beautiful story behind it, made possible by a generous donor with a passion for Southwell and school life on the campus.
Geoff and Linda Maber are the donors behind the Alumni Sports Pavilion, today the third generation of Maber kids attend Southwell School and are totally immersed in sporting life at Southwell. Rita Davies, whose son was unbeatable in the swimming pool
in his time at Southwell made the decision to bless future generations of swimmers and wanted to see the
new boarding house, and Peter Kraus donating 250k to its external social leisure and active zones.
Many others have donated too, especially to the boarding house where you can still donate today perhaps purchasing a bunk bed, beanbag or games! Visit the Foundation website to make your contribution now.
If you want to leave your legacy at Southwell School, please reach out to myself, Headmaster Jason Speedy or any other Trustee of the Southwell School Foundation today.
While Geoff, Linda, Rita, John and Peter have generously donated intergenerational projects, many others help in other ways donating time, know-how, scholarships and other resources. One student proudly gave her best donating $5 to “support her school” – you should have seen the smile on her face knowing she’d made
a difference!
