FOOTBALL
2019 was another successful year for Southwell football. Once again football had the highest number of participants amongst the winter sports on offer and we saw 154 players take to the field in 15 different teams. These teams were made up of 12 boys' teams, which consisted of four Year 7/8 teams, four Year 5/6 teams, two Year 3/4 teams, and two Year 1/2 teams. Once again we were able to field three girls' teams, who played in the U12, U10 and U8 grades.
Thank you to all those who assisted with a team, whether it be coaching, managing, refereeing, supporting or supplying oranges on the sidelines. Without your involvement and commitment players would not have the opportunity to take to the field on a Saturday morning.
Finally, a huge thank you to all the players who turned out for Southwell during 2019. Your understanding of tactical play and personal skill increased over the season and were evident on the weekend during your gameplay. Hopefully you continue your journey with the Beautiful Game and go on to bigger and better things. The world is at your feet!
