YEAR 5 CAMP : FUN IN ROTORUA
DINNER
I could not wait for dessert. We were having sundaes and nachos for dinner!
After all of the activities I had done that day I walked to the huge hall for dinner! I felt super proud of the way I had given everything a go - even the hard stuff.
As I lifted the corn chips to my mouth the burst of flavour melted in my mouth. I loved the sauce. It was delicious. When I was finished I even went to get seconds. I started eating very fast because I didn’t want to miss out on dessert.
Luckily when I had finished, it was still dessert time. There were lots of people swarming around the table like bees to a bee hive. So I patiently waited.
When everyone had finished, we watched an interesting movie. It was very funny.

MY CAMP WEEK
Tonight was the night I had been waiting for. We were going to be able to play with all of the games that we had brought with us. I hadn’t bought a game in my bag because I couldn’t fit any in but I knew my friends had some great games with them.
Excitement was building in the large hall as we all filed in. Mrs Hickey gave us instructions of what to do and then we were off, games galore. It was so much fun and was one of the highlights of camp. I played a guessing game and Uno with my friends.

THE REDWOOD FOREST
I heard the leaves crunching under my feet and in the distance I could hear the gurgling sound of a bubbling hot mud pool. When we reached the mud pool I stared down into what looked like boiling porridge. The smell of sulphur was terrible; it stunk so badly. The smell reminded me of when my mom cooks eggs that stink.
As we approached where the bus should have been we discovered it wasn't there, so we waited and waited. While waiting patiently we saw another class on their bikes. It looked like so much fun and it made me excited for later in the day.
Finally the bus got to us and we we went orienteering. After that we went to Planet Bike and this was the most exciting. All the activities made me more adventurous!
BLUE SPRINGS - PUTARURU
As I looked out over the fencing at the sight of the clear crisp waters of the Blue Springs a heavy tiredness lifted from inside of me, like a balloon, up, up and away into the bright sky.
The glimmering water seemed to sparkle like magic would on a wand. It looked ENCHANTED as it flowed past the river weed. I looked away and felt happier and rejuvenated.
The walk was amazing and I really loved the views as we walked under the trees and up the steps.
The sun was beating down on me, making me tired as we walked up little hills and down.
By the time we finished I was happy, yet exhausted, and I had a big drink.
