YEAR 8 SHOW: GREASE
Grease this year was an absolute blast! Each class in Year 8 created a performance using a couple scenes.
Everyone got involved and had a great time. We all loved getting to do dancing, acting and wear snazzy 80s costumes.
Then the decision was made to produce Extreme Grease! This was when some Year 8 students performed some more scenes from Grease. But this was not like the class ones. This was taken to a whole other level!
We had bigger and better costumes, dances, acting, singing, lights and much, much more. For Extreme Grease we were performing in front of quite a big audience which made the whole show easier and took a lot of the pressure off.
With little time for practice we managed to pull it off.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Walker, who played a huge part in all of the Grease performances with everything else she had going on. We all appreciate it so much!

THEATRE SPORTS
Unlike other things, in theatre sports you don’t have to be physically able, smart or particularly good at anything. You’ve just got to have a great sense of humour and personality. The year started off with a bang! We had
a training squad of 20 people all eager to start learning more about theatre sports. Over the course of the year we had three main training evenings which took place
on a Tuesday night and I would just like to say a special thanks to George for coming into school and giving up his free time to teach us about theatre sports.
In Term 4 it was time for the selection of the teams. The teams where to be made up of four players and one reserve. The competition was held in the new Murray and Ann Day centre at Southwell. The schools that
we competed against were Cambridge Middle School and Maeroa Intermediate. All the teams preformed amazingly.
All in all, it has been an amazing year for Southwell Theatre Sports and I hope the teams next year will have as much fun as we did.
