FIVE POSITIVE OUTCOMES FROM 2021
IT’S BEEN AN EXTRAORDINARY YEAR!
I have been involved in and witnessed so many positive moments through this year. Five positive outcomes that resonate with me, are after diving in and out of lockdowns in this second half year, are the ability of so many of our students, parents, teachers, wider staff and community members to;
Be Adaptable - Our people’s capacity to bend and break habits, challenge themselves when circumstances change, pivot and keep moving forward and be solutions focused has occurred daily on site or off site.
Give 100 % Effort - No matter what the situation, so many have delivered good outcomes. Often these people have put extra energy into tasks, problem solved, been disciplined and exhibited great resilience.
Show Goodwill - From tremendous philanthropy towards people and projects, to delivering excellent occasions such as the Gala and giving time and expertise to sporting teams, cultural groups and the vast amount of activities we
generate, the ability for people to make a positive difference across all spheres of Southwell life has been inspiring.
Be Caring - Individual and group acts of kindness towards others has been immense. The helpful, sympathetic, warm hearted, considerate and thoughtful nature of people certainly has made a difference to others who have felt challenged or struggled at times.
Act with Enthusiasm - Our large group of enthusias-
tic people achieve so well with their individual and wide passions and are great role models to those around them. From five to a hundred years of age within our community these people are purposeful, busy, action orientated and their zest for life is infectious.
I will cherish the learnings and positive outcomes from 2021 and are looking forward to 2022, there are so many oppor- tunities before our community from personal self growth to outstanding facility developments. I wish everyone the best of seasons and all the best with the new year before us.
