Amongst several images made to illustrate the Holy Spirit, sometimes a form of a dove is used to demonstrate
that sense of purity and peace which everyone, young
and old, can relate to. Maybe in this wonderful image of simplicity much is explained and could provide the platform from which we all may seek the way of peace in every community that we represent and contribute to, be it here at school or beyond.

ecently, it was Pentecost Sunday. This is the day that celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit, 50 days after Easter Sunday.
As with some concepts in our faith, the Holy Spirit seems to be especially tricky to explain to children because Christian belief says that the Spirit is here, fully present and our
great helper as sent from God. How do we unpack this
part of the three-fold nature of God to young ones (and potentially ourselves!)?
Perhaps with the notion that the Holy Spirit is our helper, teacher, comforter and our friend! These terms would certainly resonate strongly in little minds. Similarly, it might be stressed as God becoming a part of us when we enter his family and understand that Jesus died and rose for us. When we’re ready to live our lives in honour of God, the Holy Spirit will lead us and guide us every day.
With any explanation of the work of the Holy Spirit it is best to turn to Scripture to see what it says and maybe
