he racehorse horse Helly Belly is owned by Chris Grace and raced by wife Jill and 10 of her girlfriends and fellow parents who all had
boys completing their Southwell journey in year 8 together in 2011. The horse was named in honour of Helen Spadoni, (mother of Eli Spadoni 2004-11) who unfortunately died unexpectedly in June 2020. Helen was affectionately nicknamed Helly Belly by her friends.
Helly Belly raced 6 times as a 3year old and won twice. She ran in the NZ Oaks which is a Group 1 race for her age and sex and raced well but was hindered in her run affecting the result. She has been sent to Victoria in Australia to race..... perhaps Royce & Rhona Helm can get to see her run in those magnificent Southwell School colours across the ditch!
