Its been a massive year or two for Campus Development, with the Junior School and Alumni Sports Pavilion Opening earlier in the year.
Progress on the new Boarding House is good and we are excited to welcome our boarders in Term 1 2024. I am particularly pleased that we have been able to repurpose the old junior block and former dormitory to provide accommodation, co-ed student areas, a large laundry and offices.
On December 13, diggers arrive and we commence construction of our new 25m pool. It’s such an exciting addition and you will all be able to view construction progress when you return from the Summer Break. It will be quite the change! This amazing facility will enable us to add to the water based activities currently on offer.
All of this has been made possible by the amazing generosity of a whole range of donors but in particular; John and Sarah Oliver, Rita Davies, Dr Malcolm Dunshea,
eternally grateful.
Professional Development continues to be a priority in various forms, from mentoring from a Dean to a week long exchange to Punahou School in Hawaii. New exciting PD initiatives are being worked on for 2024 and beyond.
Southwell continues to go from strength to strength. The tangible things we are doing really well and success in those is underpinned by what we offer; Small class sizes and teacher student relationships, personalised learning, specialist teachers, a large array of opportunities in addition to core curriculum. All this occurring within a Christian values system with All Hallows chapel at the heart and a social environment that respects differences and is
a happy place in which learning can flourish. Southwell certainly is a special place.
I wish you all a restorative Christmas Break with your families.
