2023 ALTRUSA YOUNG CITIZEN
We are so proud of Year 8 student Dylan Penn who was announced as Southwell’s 2023 Altrusa Young Citizen of the Year. Altrusa recognises Year 8 students who display the following attributes: Courtesy, Attitude, Initiative, Sportsmanship, Community Work and Scholastic Achievement / Improvement. Keeping it in the Family... that’s 2-2 for the Penn Family. Sister Hayley received the same Southwell Altrusa Award in 2021. Congratulations.
KAPA HAKA FESTIVAL
Our Senior Kapa Haka Members attended the Waikato Full Primary Schools Kapa Haka Festival on October 19 and showcased their years work with song and dance. Our Kapa were excellent ambassadors for our kura and we are very proud of their accomplishments.
LONG SERVICE
Congratulations to our long service students who have attended Southwell for 8 or 9 years. They enjoyed a special lunch in the Alumni Sports Pavilion and received an exclusive 8&9 Club Badge.
LI FAMILY
As part of the Year 2 Inquiry ‘Ko Wai Matou’ class, Amanda daughter Phyllis Li (current year 2 ) assisted the syndicate learning with a presentation about the Mid-Autumn Festival. We are very lucky that our families are able to showcase and share aspects of their culture with us.
