Canterbury has enjoyed another very successful year in 2019. Of particular note is how our students have all worked together as a team to show their pride in being part of Canterbury House. Thank you to our fantastic Heads of House Natalya and Kellan. You have been organised, enthusiastic and you displayed great leadership this year. I have been particularly impressed with the way you have encouraged the other senior Canterbury students to get involved in helping. Long may the tradition of excellent student leadership last in Canterbury. Also, it must be noted that our senior students have made efforts to include and teach our junior students what it is to be part of our house. Our senior Canterbuddies were exemplary in the way they helped our new students to assimilate into the culture of our house.
2019 has been a spectacular year for our beloved house. We have dominated across several areas of the school, most notably winning all ten heats of the coveted Tug-o-War competition. This will be the second year in a row we have achieved great success here.
House Singing and line-dancing have been a highlight for Canterbury. With the excellent guidance of Mrs Trenwith, and invaluable tech support from Mr Jia, we put together song arrangements and choreographed moves to get placings in the singing - having a great deal of fun along the way.
A big highlight of the year for the teachers would have to be the outstanding house spirit exhibited by all in Canterbury!! We really know how to get behind our students - chanting with the very best!! On that note...
