 YEAR 8 SHOWS
                 44 Southwell School Yearbook 2019
There is no shortage of talent in our Year 8 Syndicate, with a range of accomplished actors across the classes. Because of this, Mrs Walker set each class the challenge to direct and produce their own 15-30 minute productions, with little guidance.
Each class set out by selecting a production of their choice, forcing students to compromise and to come to an agreeable decision. Once we decided who played each role we had to summarize the play into three scenes.
Over five weeks, during our 40 minute drama session, we began to write and practise each scene, with only a limited amount of time to complete the production before fitting it all together ready for the end of term show. Each class had to organise their own costumes and music and perform in the Day Building to the Year 2 - 4s.
The experience was a tremendous success, as each student had a role, with every character having multiple lines to rehearse! Everyone had the opportunity to enhance their stage skillset and creativity, while having a tonne of fun doing it!
