2020 has thrown up some major challenges and we have met and overcome those challenges without any hesitation. It has been a year that has seen major disruption, but to the credit of our house we maintained our smiles, positivity and resilience to have a truly wonderful year.
Continuing on from the hard work of 2019's TEAMWORK, our leaders took a different approach and decided our catchphrase for the year was going to be to ENJOY everything! If only we knew how tting this ethos would be looking out from February towards the end of the year.
As such, when Lockdown hit we ENJOYED what it offered - downtime, family, organising ourselves for online learning, and the simple things. Then it ended and we enjoyed friends, freedom, living and the company of our fellow housemates, before enjoying Opera, line- dancing and Athletics!
Winchester’s year, like many others around the country, and the globe, has been a challenge, but one challenge we truly have enjoyed. We now have a life experience that seldom occurs but has made us thankful for what we have, and made us appreciate more the things we truly enjoy in life. As Helen Keller once said “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”
Rosie Willson and Fabio Dente Heads of House
When I was announced Head of Winchester at the start of 2020 I was very nervous as to what I was going to do and say when things like House Meetings came around! But Winchester is an amazing house and has made my time as a House Leader so fun and I have looked forward to working as a team with everyone in our fantastic house. So thank you everyone with Winchester spirit for trying your best in house competitions and being the best house by far!
Rosie
When I was chosen as Head of Winchester, 2020, I felt more privileged than ever to lead this amazing house. I think we have progressed as a whole, showing cheerful spirit and teamwork in everything we do. It is sad for me to go and leave this great house behind, but I know they will carry on being the best house ever!
Fabio
