TENNIS
As every writer in the magazine has probably alluded to, it has been a very disrupted year, but when we could get out and play tennis we have loved it. We had a total of 34 students playing and we chose 16 for the two top teams for the inter-school games. Unfortunately, we were only able to participate in these during the first term.
We enjoyed having our Southwell Club Day challenges during our Thursday afternoon trainings and the ladder matches created some competition which the players enjoyed. They chose who they wanted to challenge and they had one open challenge which they took advantage of to move themselves up the ladder. We continued these throughout the year.
The players were a fine group and it was a pleasure to spend time with them. They have a real passion for the game and this was infectious in our trainings. Myself and Mrs McLean would like to thank them for turning up each week, ready to do their best out on the courts.
We wish them many wonderful tennis games in their spare time and we look forward to a stunning 2022.
