We got house spirit yes we do, we got house spirit just for you. So dry your eye, and wipe that tear. Pick up that lip, Winchester’s here.
Term 1 was an awesome way to start the year. We had some new students and we seemed to have great atmosphere during house meetings. Our 2018 motto was
quickly decided, go hard or go home! We often talked about getting to know each other better because we believed that over this year we would become the Winchester family. As things progressed we came up with a house chant, just in time for Swimming Sports. Winchester buzzed with our house spirit on the day, and we came away with some amazing results. A few days later, our juniors had their Swimming Sports day at the school pool. We know that we were all super proud of ourselves!
Term 2 came rolling around so fast and we began to organise and plan our ideas for
the 2018 House Singing competition. This year we were given the song The Lion Sleeps Tonight by The Tokens. Being the second year of house singing, we all had a pretty good idea of what to expect and do. For our house we had a little fun with the tune and harmony! We took the song Love Yourself
by Justin Bieber and infused the lyrics from our given song to come up with an amazing and creative idea. We think that we worked so hard and that effort is a super important quality. Well done, Winchester!
Terms 3 and 4 were full of occasions to attend. We were stacked up with dances and games ready for Founder’s Day! Our assigned dance was, luckily enough, The Macarena!
Of course we added our own special twist. With only three weeks to practise, we worked hard and fast. We gave the international world rage a bit of a remix, cooperating in
the Harlem shake and showing our personal are.
As soon as that event was over, we were onto Athletics Day. We ended up with some outstanding results and overall we thought it was a super fun and successful day!
We think that Winchester was a super fun house to be in! We always tried to stick to our overall house motto and have fun. Even
though our motto was a tad bit cheesy, it often seems that they are the quotes that always seem true and mean the most. As Winchester’s Heads of House, we hope that we have encouraged you all, and taught you that doing your best (emphasis on your) is the most important part of doing anything that you aspire to. We encourage you to try new things even though you may not enjoy
it. Being a part of a team is not just fun and exciting but is a virtue that we believe is super-important in life and growing up. Thank you all for a great year and being so positive and supportive. We wish you all the best for your future and hope that you have learned something from us.
