York has had a very positive year, with some fabulous highlights, and also some moments where we had to show resilience and dignity in the face of disappointment.
Highlights included taking out the Swimming Sports title, and winning the Year 8 Book Quiz (and we came second overall in the Book Quiz competition.)
In York, we don't mind if we don't win everything as you have to lose sometimes to be a good winner.
Our Tuesday meetings, led by Mr Williams, alongside Maddy and Ollie, are always fun, especially when we have House Singing or line-dancing to practise for. The Year 8 leaders really stepped up during these times and showed the younger students the way.

I was really happy to be named as one of the heads of York house. It's been really enjoyable.
Highlights for me have been Swimming Sports, the Line Dancing and I really enjoyed Tug-o-War, even though we didn't do so well (we got smashed!)

When I was named one of the York Heads of House I was really thrilled. Over the past year York has taught me how to be a good leader and it has made me proud to call York my house.
My highlights have been emptying our tanks, and winning, Swimming Sports, and giving it our all on stage and on the sports fields.
I wish you all the best for 2020 and I know in my heart you will do great.
