Showquest : Our Journey
“Auditions are tomorrow!”
That was all you could hear from a mile away. It was, once again, time for Showquest. This was it, everyone packed in the Great Hall, buzzing with excitement to get started.
Fifty Year 7 and 8 students auditioned to be a part of this unique opportunity. We all tried our best and then it was up to Abby (the dance choreographer) to decide our fate.
Our group was chosen and we began our journey to tell the story of Uniting the World’ through dance.
Every Tuesday from 3.30 - 5.00pm we practised until we had something that looked spectacular.
Due to Covid-19 we couldn’t perform at the Claudelands Arena as planned and the alternative was to submit a video.
So, we decided to take the opportunity to use our world-renowned Hamilton Gardens as our backdrop for lming.
Each group danced in their own magical garden. The music played and they created a wonderful tribute to their continent of the world.
But before we waved goodbye to Abby, we lmed one last performance to submit, this time in our Southwell Auditorium, each group smiling and dancing with pride.
After the nal lming and editing of both entries we submitted two beautiful dances.
Our group would like to thank Abby Dutton, Donna Rudduck, Diane Hazlett, Angela Walker, Kris Mikkelson, Paul Norman and our wonderful parent helpers for ensuring we had such a great experience.
