2020 has certainly been one out the box... the year started with Plan A and has ended around Plan F v.23!
Covid-19 certainly threw a spanner in the works, but there have denitely been some silver linings...
• An amazing group of student librarians. We experimented with the idea of having four head librarians, two for the rst half of the year and two for the second. Brooke Holah, Hannah Macdonald, Hunter Jones and Tejveer Randhawa are all fabulous leaders in their own ways and we loved working with all of them.
Highlights of the year have included:
• With the postponement of Grandparents' Day because of the Lockdown, we had to cancel our Scholastic Book Fair. When the day was reinstated in Term 3 we decided to support our local booksellers and we invited Books for Kids and Penny's Chartwell to sell books, with great succes.

er Week fun!
         • Book Week is always a highlight (again rescheduled because of Covid-19.) We had to change our original visiting authors (Dawn McMillan and Sarah Hirsch), but Paul Martin (Year 4-8) and Deano Yipadee (Year 0-3) were both wonderful additions to the week. The annual Book Quizzes (won by Lincoln) were great fun and Book Character Day is always a raging success.
• Mrs Huggins and Mrs Walch spent many hours pondering how to better serve our students - with a real focus on how to support inquiry learning. Watch this space!
• Harry Potter Week was amazing. Mrs Walch borrowed many items from our wonderful community and the students had great fun being sorted, escaping from a digital escape room, learning spells, challenging themselves with a quiz and heading out on a scavenger hunt. Thank you to everyone who donated their paraphernalia, time and energy to make this week a success!
 • Visits from our neighbours Little Sparrows.
• The eight students who were involved in the Book Club for Kids podcast (William Rushbrooke, Claire Johnstone, Daniel Zhao, Roy Zhu, Josie Lee, Shannon Yu,
Jessica Foster and Elsa Xu.)
• Our parent helpers continue to be invaluable. This year we added to our team of xers, tidiers and coverers, with a group who come in to help return and issue while classes are in session. This has been invaluable to the librarians as it means we are freed up to help the students take that next step in their reading journey.
Thanks, as always, to Mrs Huggins for her continued and never-ending support of me and the Library.
