YEAR 0-2 SYNDICATE
Where has 2021 gone?!
Another year has flown by while teachers watched with pride as children grew in independence - well on their way to developing life-long skills.
I would like to thank all the junior teachers for their hard work and flexibility. Starting the year back in the classroom to moving to remote learning has called on our teachers and families to take one day at a time in an environment of uncertainty. Throughout this change the junior teachers have adapted their teaching style, remained positive and conveyed a high level of professionalism and I am forever grateful to work alongside such hardworking individuals.
This year we saw the departure of Mrs Hay as she moved to Hanmer Springs, and we welcomed Mrs Carter to our team. Sadly, we also saw the end of a teaching journey for Mrs Cameron as she and Mr Cameron move to Hawkes Bay.
But with a team of dedicated teachers behind an amazing group of young people, we have accomplished a lot:
• Camp Week - learning to become a team and challenging ourselves with new experiences;
• Book Week / Book Character Day;
• Cross Country, Swimming and Athletics
competitions;
• Many new students joined us in Terms
2, 3 & 4 and became part of the Junior
School family;
• Children gaining confidence to read in
Chapel for the first time.
A special thank you to all the parents, Teacher Aides, and school colleagues who have supported and helped us in the Junior School this year. We are grateful for the new experiences and opportunities you bring us.

Matariki celebrations
I started to walk up the steps. It looked like a broken down castle! It looked so wicked!
I opened the door. Oh my goodness! It had wicked unicorns in it. With their wicked red hair! "Whoa!" I said.
It was too scary. I had to go out. It looked like a storm was coming, so I got my umbrella out and put it over my head. I was right. It started to rain.
I had to go back in. "It’s freezing out here," I said. So I opened the door again. It felt way warmer than outside. I wanted to stay the night so I asked if I could stay the night and they said, "Mmmm, ok!" Then they said, “Yes, it is going to be a magical sleepover!"
