YEAR 7 SYNDICATE
FROM CAMP TO CROSS COUNTRY, AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN!
START OF THE SCHOOL YEAR
New faces everywhere! Everyone was excited but nervous. Butterflies fluttered in our stomachs. The old students found their friends, while the new students wandered around awkwardly. Luckily they made new friends along the way.
CAMP
Pack your bags, zip up your wetsuits, and get ready for camp! The Year 7s were lucky enough to be able to go to Papamoa and spend five days at Pacific Park. The camp was packed full of fun and adventures like Adrenalin Forest.
SWIMMING SPORTS
Splash! Everyone dove into the pool and swam until they were out of breath. We all cheered loudly, while Winchester took out the win.
BOOK CHARACTER DAY
People in masks, people in costumes, people completely unrecognizable! Colourful characters adorned the paths of Southwell School. Your friends were gone and your teachers looked different. The annual Book Quiz took place with grinning faces. In the end, Lincoln won!
GRANDPARENTS' DAY
Get a photo with your grandparents! It was the day we showed off Southwell to our grandparents. Quizzes, activities, and tours were done. In Chapel, the grandparents sang along beautifully with smiling faces. After the service, bands and orchestras performed and food was served.
HARRY POTTER
The boy who lived - Wingardium Leviosa! Harry Potter came to Southwell School. Many practices and rehearsals led up to the big night. The time had come, the lights went dim, the show had started.
HOUSE SINGING
Tune your instruments, warm up your voices, it’s house singing time! The judges took their place on stage,
The winner is... SALISBURY!
SPEECHES
Adrenaline pumping, hearts racing! Everyone was feeling nervous before delivering their speech. In a flash, speech finals arrived. Everyone performed exceptionally well and with pride.
CROSS COUNTRY
Huffing, puffing and faces as red as tomatoes! Some loved it, some... well, not so much. But either way, it was a day to remember, Again, Lincoln took the win!
LOCKDOWN
As Term 4 started, once again we were locked away,
On our screens with many a wifi delay. Opera was canceled, no singing for us -
In the Year 2021, we had to quickly adjust. Will Jacinda ever find a way
To lead us back to yesterday?
With three weeks of the school year remaining,
Finally back at school, lockdown was draining!
We finish 2021 with a smile and a cheer - Glad that we can all be here!
