CAMP
ADRENALIN FOREST
Like a hammer against my ribcage. Pounding through my body,
It's thrumming throbbing my head,
Each beat was in sync with each time my lips quivered.
I looked down.
A wave of dizziness hit me.
I couldn’t do this,
The two people in front of me have already given up,
So why shouldn’t I?
But I had come so far already.
I probably wasted most of my time, I stepped on the first rope.
My muscles,
Straining.
Burning.
Sweating.
Steadying myself with the ropes beside me.
I quickly grasped on to the next ropes, My hands,
Slippery with sweat,
But burning from my grip.
Then used the momentum to get me to the next rope,
Repeating that process I made it to the platform.
With a grin on my face, No matter how hard. How scary.
How much it hurts.
I won’t give up.

THE ROCK HOP
The daunting jumps, the glacial waters and the sharp rocks.
What sounds like a torture activity, is actually the best activity in the world. We arrived at a small lake with a Warning - Drowning Area sign.
Great, very encouraging.
After a quick briefing from our instructors, we crowded over a small cliff to complete our first jump into the water.
I looked over; only four metres or so. After a century of waiting, it was finally my turn, so I just threw myself off the cliff. Falling,
falling,
falling.
SPLASH!
I knew I landed in the lake when my skin pierced the freezing cold water.
From then on, we were floating in the river with our life jackets and our colourful helmets.
We only came out to jump off rocks, or when the water was too dangerous to swim in. We must have looked quite weird from an outsider's perspective.
When we reached the end, we practically ran to get out of the biting water.
And that was the Rock Hop.
Why did I like it so much? I don’t know, but I did.

THE TARZAN SWING
I watched the line in front of me shrink, and the rope get retrieved over and over again.
I heard a splash, and I moved forward towards the rope, holding it in my hands, gripping it very tightly.
I jumped.
I swung forwards for a few metres and finally, when the rope reached its final stop, I let go.
When I first started falling, I felt like I made a mistake, I should’ve never let go. But, it’s too late now.
The water hit me with the temperature of a glacier, and I plunged deep into the water. When I resurfaced, I started swimming towards the ladder.
Suddenly I heard a person going down the slide, flying right over my head! SPLASH!
