Junior Choir met once a week on a Friday morning for some fun singing and music games.
The Junior Choir is open to all Year 3 and 4 students and this year we performed Do-Re-Mi at Grandparents' Day and Let It Snow at the Junior Prize Giving.

 CHOIR TRIP
This year’s Choir Camp was definitely a hard one to beat. From singing at Somerset to swinging on the Swoop, it had it all.
We started by singing our whole repertoire at Somerset Retirement Village, before travelling to Rotorua. In the evening, we sang a service at St Luke's in Rotorua, and then headed off to the Blue Lake.
Day 2 began with a bang, with a trip into the water on a truck boat. Blasting music pounded the boys' eardrums as they took in the amazing scenery of two different lakes, while the girls took a relaxing walk around Blue Lake before it was their turn.
Velocity Valley came next, where there were four different options - the Shweeb Racer, Agrojet, Freefall Xtreme and the Swoop. Everyone had heaps of fun with their two chosen options.
On Day 3 we had a relaxing soak at Kerosene Creek, followed by a well-deserved shopping trip. We arrived back at school with heavy hearts, but also so happy that we got to experience it all. Thanks to all the wonderful helpers, and of course Mrs McIntyre, for making it all possible and putting up with us.

  VOICE FOR LIFE
I enjoyed Voice for Life from the day I started. It is a great way to improve your theory and your vocal skills. Anyone in the choirs can be trained by Mrs McIntyre, as they work towards one of the five different levels (White, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Red
and Yellow.) Voice for Life can make you a great person filling the air with wonderful singing.
While at Southwell, I have learnt a huge amount of theory and have improved my singing, as I have strived to be the best I can be. I am massively lucky to be a part of this activity, because had Mrs McIntyre not mentioned it, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. A huge thank you to Mrs McIntyre and Chaplain for helping me this year. I am so lucky to have one more year at Southwell to make the most of finishing Dark Blue and starting Red. I recommend Voice for Life as I will always appreciate what these wonderful teachers have taught me.
