WATERPOLO
Our 2019 season started off under the guidance of Miss Southall and Miss Rudduck.
Southwell was able to field two water polo teams in Term 1 - the Makos and the Fins. As always we came up against tough competition but the improvement made by each player throughout the term was great to see.
Term 3 saw Mrs Rushbrooke take over as coach and our teams entered into a fun Introduction to Water Polo competition. This was lots of fun and it was great to see a lot of new students giving water polo a try for the first time.
Term 4 has been very successful for both teams, with the Fins coming third in their division and the Makos making a really strong comeback. After placing 8th they went on to the semis and then went onto a final placing of 5th.
It has been a privilege to be Captain of Water Polo this year and I have most enjoyed seeing new players enjoying the sport as much as I have.
Thank you to our coaches, parents and supporters. It was great to hear you cheering us on!
Good luck to the teams next year! I’m sure you will continue to do well!

Southwell School Yearbook 2019
The Magpies had an awesome season! They improved so much under Jack Riggins’ coaching.
The girls were unbeaten throughout pool play, and ended up winning the B grade finals against Cambridge Middle Sschool (15-5.)
