  INLINE HOCKEY
In Term 1, Southwell School registered three teams into the School League Competitions - the Southwell Sabres, Saints and Scorpions. There was a good mix of new players keen to give the sport a go, and returning players from last year.
The Southwell Sabres competed in the top A Division. This proved to be highly competitive with only a small number of teams up for the challenge. Games were always tough but the team showed resilience each week and improved as the year progressed
The Southwell Scorpions continued to play well in the B Division developing their passing and shooting. The highlight for this team was a 2nd place trophy in Term 1.
The Southwell Saints team was a relatively inexperienced team that quickly learnt the skills required, showed plenty of speed around the rink and developed their passing and skating in D Division. In Term 2 due to the popularity of the sport a fourth team was established. The Southwell Sonics. This team quickly built their combinations and earned a third place trophy in the D Division.
After a winter break, the teams returned in Term 4 for another round of games with more new players keen to have a go. Both the Southwell Sabres and Scorpions were registered in the A Division and a highly contested game was held in Week 4 between them. While the experience of the Sabres showed through in this game, the younger Scorpions players proved that Southwell inline hockey was in good shape. These teams went on to place second and and fourth respectively.
Southwell Saints and Southwell Sonics were placed in the D Division. The Saints had many close matches and placed third in their pool. The Sonics went through pool play undefeated and then won their final convincingly.
There have also been some excellent individual performances, with players continuing to shine at club level playing in Regional and Inter- regional tournaments: Charlotte Tam, Dylan Cassells, Ray Zhang, Alan Li and Jonathan Jiang all represented Hamilton and found success.\
It was an excellent season of inline and we are looking forward to more success and new players keen to have a go next year.
