YEAR 7 SYNDICATE
TERM 1
Term 1 started with an amazing start to the year with lots of new people joining Year 7. We met our new classmates and teachers, and we had big things ahead of us, including Camp and Book Character Day.
Camp was amazing! As soon as we walked onto the bus, we could tell this was going to be the best camp ever. The activities were great, and on top of that, the food and accommodation were perfect. At the end of our brilliant adventure, we were really sad to go home.
Jacqueline Li, Daniel Zhao, Oliver Jones, William Rushbrooke
TERM 2
Along with Opera, every Year 7 class had their own version of Dracula Spectacula. We all contributed by creating our own little skits and scenes which brought the show to life. In the end, every class performance was unique and a great success.
On the sports side of things, the teams were announced and winter fixtures had started. We had a lot of amazing games with the teams playing hard and generally coming out with a win.
Meanwhile, all the houses were busy preparing for the annual House Singing contest. It gave everyone an amazing opportunity to dance, sing and show off their groovy moves in front of the whole school, and most importantly have fun! Conor McCormack, Iona Martynoga, James Su, Roy Zhu
TERM 3
We rushed back into Term 3, recharged and ready for the new challenges ahead of us.
Winter fixtures carried on throughout the term. They were loaded with fun and gave the participants a chance to meet new people and make new friends. Overall the fixtures were successful.
One significant highlight of Term 3 was Cross Country. After weeks of training during P.E., everyone ran their best and thoroughly emptied the tank, with great encouragement from fellow students.
Opera in Term 3 was magnificent. Many people spent endless hours behind the scenes. By the time it got to the shows, we were all tired but well-practised. It was an exhilarating show.

TERM 4
Term 4 started off with Founder's Day and we were excited. We received Southwell cookies and heard a number of inspiring speeches.
French Dining Day was a blast, filled with snails and smiles. We enjoyed French cuisine and we generally had a great time.
This year we were blessed with great weather on Athletics Day! All of the students enjoyed competing with fabulous house spirit and we all loved watching our friends and housemates take part. Running, jumping and throwing was done with enthusiasm and exuberance and everyone emptied the tank.
Leadership Day, organised by Project Energize, was filled with enthusiasm and energy. We experienced working as a team. We found out our strengths and weaknesses for our potential leadership positions in the future. We look forward to Year 8 as our final, and most exciting, year begins.
