YEAR 4 CAMP : BOARDING-HOUSE BASED
On Camp Week the Year 4s slept in the Boarding House for four nights and did activities around Hamilton. My favourite thing was the Flying Kiwi. When the man strapped me in the harness I felt worried, “What if they let go?” If they did I would fall and go SPLAT! I didn’t want to die! But I trusted my friends. The man said, “Wings, are you ready?” “Yes!” they shouted.
“Kiwi are you ready?”
“Yes!” I said. The wings pulled and up I went! When I first started going up I was scared but then I thought “Hey, this isn’t so bad!” but then the rope hit the top. “AAAAEEEE!!!!” I thought.
I got a giant wedgie! When I came down I had to adjust my pants!

One fine morning after breakfast we got into chapel order and started to number off to check that everyone was here.
At Karapiro my first activity was High Wires. There was a long, skinny wooden plank that you had to walk across. The instructors called it The Beam. It was quite scary up there if you looked down but I managed to do it. After I did The Beam I did the wires. There were wires at the left and right and one wire underneath you. It was pretty scary up there.
After that I did the Flying Kiwi. When it was my turn I was a bit scared but it was fun. I did some Fortnite dances on the Flying Kiwi. When we had done the Flying Kiwi Konur wanted to do The Beam again. So he went up The Beam. He managed to do it. Everyone was cheering.
