YEAR 5 CAMP : ROTORUA BOUND
At 9:00pm on camp I was trying to fall asleep when suddenly an alarm went off and it woke everybody up.
It told us to get out of the building. Everyone lined up and we were very, very confused.
Some people said it was a drill, others said it wasn't, because the teachers would have told us about it.
We were really freaking out about the alarm. Then fire trucks came. And I think it was a spider web the whole time and its web triggered the alarms.
Then the next day my friend Raul said “Maybe the spider was smoking.”
That same day the alarm went off again and I said “How did the spider light it's cigarette again?”

  CAMP
We woke up to the sound of a loud siren. Frightened, we ran out the door to the cold wet field.
All huddled in blankets to keep us warm. The sky was pitch black and the stars were covered by clouds.
The teachers called our names to escort us to the camp bus. We were disappointed that it was only a teeny weeny spider that set off the alarm. So the teachers told us to calm down and go back to bed. Jasper Goldsmith, Dwight Fatu, Amos Ratuki, Olivia Li, Phoebe Shale, Judi Li
On Friday after an action- packed week of camp, the whole Year 5 Syndicate was arriving back at school.
Everyone was so excited to see their mums and dads.
I sat down on the ledge and waited.
BOO!! It was my mum.
She gave me such a fright. I was so happy and excited to see her after five days.

BIKING IN THE REDWOODS
Zoom Whoosh Bang!
Wednesday. 3pm. My class just got our bikes and helmets at Planet Bike.
First we got into three different groups. The first group was for experienced bikers, the second was for average bikers, the third was for bikers who need a bit more practice.
I was in the second group. As we set off we followed a stone track until we came to the Redwood Forest. Only then it started to get bumpy with all the roots and hills.
At one point we came to a stop to hug some redwood trees. Annie, who was in my group, accidentally hugged a pine tree instead of a redwood.
As we carried on we went down a really steep hill. I fell off at the bottom but I kept going and soon we arrived back. I think after a long day it was time to get some rest.
